Events to note:

Sunday 24th September 1pm onwards – Spelthorne district Scouts raft race. The Scouts will build a raft using their knotting skills, poles and barrels which will they will then use to take part in a race around the lake at Wraysbury. It’s a great event loved by all those taking part.

Sunday 8th October – Some of the Scout leaders are taking part in the Mud Monsters run ( This is to raise some funds to work towards the Scouts trip to Holland in 2019. This camp usually costs around £500 per Scout but due to the large amount of fundraising we have done in the past we normally charge around £350 which is a massive saving to you. We have entered a team of 6 and are looking for a couple of volunteers to join us in the mud and take part. Sponsorship forms for this event will be sent out on Friday.

Friday 20th October – The Scouts will have been working on their fire making skills so we’ll let them use this knowledge to have a sleepover at the hut, make a fire and cook their own dinner.

Saturday 16th, Saturday 23rd, Saturday 30th September- Bike Rides (Cyclist Badge) – Michael will be running bike rides on the dates above. These will be for the Scouts to complete their cyclist badge and will feature some road, off road and towpath routes. Mike will take groups of 5 out for these rides and the places will be on a first come, first served basis. We will need at least one other adult to accompany Mike for safety support. Please contact him directly if your Scout would like to take part so routes can be planned.

Friday 24th November District Bivi night – An overnight camp for the Scouts to build their own shelters, make a fire and chat through the night whilst munching on marshmallows!

Friday 12th January – Sunday 14th January – Frost Camp This is an annual camp that takes place in the winter to give the Scouts a bit of a challenge. The activities are great fun, if a little muddy!

Please let Michael know on Friday evening if your Scout is interested in any of these events.
